This Child Safety & Protection Policy outlines the measures we take to protect children participating in our educational programs and the responsibilities of our tutors, staff, students, and parents/guardians.
This policy applies to all online classes, competitive exam prep, educational activities, communications, and services provided by Skillzy Young Scholars.
1. PURPOSE & COMMITMENT
Skillzy Young Scholars is committed to:
- Protecting students from abuse, neglect, exploitation, bullying, harassment, and inappropriate conduct.
- Promoting a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
- Maintaining strict professional boundaries between tutors, competition coaches, and students.
- Responding swiftly and confidentially to all child safety concerns.
- Encouraging active parental involvement in their child's educational journey.
2. STUDENT AGE GROUP & PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
- Skillzy provides educational services for students enrolled in Grade 1 through Grade 12 as well as students enrolled in competitive exam prep tracks.
- Students under 18 must participate with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- Parents are encouraged to monitor live online sessions, review assignment submissions on the LMS, and ensure their child uses learning tools responsibly.
3. TUTOR VETTING & PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
All tutors, subject specialists, and competition coaches undergo background checks, identity verification, and strict pedagogical screening. Tutors must:
- Treat every student with dignity and respect.
- Maintain professional boundaries and limit interactions strictly to educational objectives.
- Avoid favoritism, discrimination, or non-academic communications.
- Maintain complete confidentiality regarding student academic performance and exam diagnostic scores.
4. COMMUNICATION & ONLINE CLASSROOM SAFETY
- All communications between tutors and students take place via approved platforms (Moodle LMS, official email, secure classroom links).
- Live online sessions are password-protected and restricted strictly to registered participants.
- Disruptive behavior, inappropriate language, harassment, or bullying by any participant will result in immediate removal from the session.
5. CLASS RECORDINGS & PRIVACY
- Live sessions are recorded for quality assurance, safety monitoring, and academic review.
- Recordings are stored securely and accessible only by authorized students, parents, and academic administrators via our Moodle LMS portal.
- Student data and photographs are handled strictly in accordance with our Privacy Policy and are never sold or used for commercial advertising.
6. PROHIBITED CONDUCT
The following are strictly forbidden on our platform:
- Harassment, bullying, or discriminatory remarks.
- Inappropriate content, offensive language, or non-educational file sharing.
- Soliciting personal or private contact details unrelated to learning.
- Unauthorized recording or distribution of class sessions and test prep materials.
7. REPORTING & INVESTIGATION OF CONCERNS
- Parents, students, and staff are encouraged to report any child safety concerns immediately to support@skillzyyoungscholars.com.
- Reports are acknowledged within 24 hours and handled with strict confidentiality.
- Skillzy reserves the right to review class recordings, suspend access, or terminate accounts to protect student well-being.
