Skillzy Young Scholars ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students. This Child Safety & Protection Policy outlines the measures we take to protect children participating in our educational programs and the responsibilities of our tutors, staff, students, and parents/guardians.
This policy applies to all online classes, demo classes, competitive exam prep, educational activities, communications, and services provided by Skillzy Young Scholars.
1. PURPOSE & COMMITMENT
Skillzy Young Scholars is committed to:
- Protecting students from abuse, neglect, exploitation, bullying, harassment, and inappropriate conduct.
- Promoting a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
- Maintaining strict professional boundaries between tutors, competition coaches, and students.
- Responding promptly and confidentially to all child safety concerns.
- Encouraging active parental involvement in their child's educational journey.
2. STUDENT AGE GROUP & PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
- Skillzy Young Scholars provides educational services for students enrolled in Grade 1 through Grade 12 as well as students enrolled in competitive exam prep tracks.
- Students under 18 must participate with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who completes enrollment on the child's behalf.
- Parents are welcome to observe live sessions, review assignment submissions on the LMS, and ensure their child uses learning tools responsibly. We recommend that a parent or guardian be nearby during classes for younger students.
3. TUTOR SCREENING & PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
All tutors, subject specialists, and competition coaches go through identity verification, reference and background screening (as permitted by applicable law), and academic and teaching-skill screening before being assigned to students. Tutors must:
- Treat every student with dignity and respect.
- Maintain professional boundaries and limit interactions strictly to educational objectives.
- Avoid favoritism, discrimination, or non-academic communications.
- Never contact students privately outside platforms approved by Skillzy Young Scholars, and never share personal social media, phone numbers, or personal accounts with students.
- Never ask for or accept gifts, money, or private lessons outside Skillzy Young Scholars.
- Maintain complete confidentiality regarding student academic performance and exam diagnostic scores.
4. COMMUNICATION & ONLINE CLASSROOM SAFETY
- All communications between tutors and students take place through approved platforms (our LMS, official email, secure classroom links).
- Class links are shared only with registered participants. Parents and students must not share class links or login details with anyone else.
- Classes, including 1:1 sessions, may be recorded for safety and quality review (see Section 5).
- Disruptive behavior, inappropriate language, harassment, or bullying by any participant will result in immediate removal from the session.
5. CLASS RECORDINGS & PRIVACY
- Live sessions may be recorded for quality assurance, safety monitoring, and academic review.
- Recordings are stored securely and accessible only to authorized students, parents, and academic administrators via our LMS portal.
- Parents may request to view a recording of their child's class.
- Student data and photographs are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and are never sold or used for commercial advertising.
6. PROHIBITED CONDUCT
The following are strictly forbidden on our platform:
- Harassment, bullying, or discriminatory remarks.
- Inappropriate content, offensive language, or non-educational file sharing.
- Soliciting personal or private contact details unrelated to learning.
- Any form of grooming, inappropriate physical or emotional contact, or requests for images or personal information from a child.
- Unauthorized recording or distribution of class sessions and test prep materials.
7. REPORTING & INVESTIGATION OF CONCERNS
- Parents, students, and staff are encouraged to report any child safety concern immediately to support@skillzyyoungscholars.com or by WhatsApp at +1 (302) 600-1958.
- Reports are acknowledged within 24 hours and handled with strict confidentiality, sharing information only with those who need it to protect the child or as required by law.
- While a concern is being looked into, Skillzy Young Scholars may remove a tutor from a student's classes, suspend access, or review class recordings to protect student well-being.
- Where a child may be in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services first. Skillzy Young Scholars will cooperate with law enforcement and child protection authorities where required.
- Skillzy Young Scholars will not penalize anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We review this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows the current version.
