Welcome to Skillzy Young Scholars. This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains the terms governing payments, cancellations, rescheduling, tutor changes, and refunds for all educational services provided by Skillzy Young Scholars ("Skillzy", "we", "our", or "us").
By enrolling in any Skillzy Young Scholars program (including Grade 1–12 subjects and competitive exam prep), students and parents/guardians acknowledge and agree to this policy.
1. CLASS PACKAGES
Skillzy Young Scholars provides live online educational classes and competitive exam coaching through prepaid class packages, including but not limited to:
- 25-Class Package
- 50-Class Package
- 100-Class Package
Students must purchase a class package before attending regular classes. Unused classes remain available in the student's account subject to the applicable enrollment period and academic schedule.
2. NO REFUND POLICY
All payments made to Skillzy Young Scholars are final and non-refundable. Refunds will not be provided for:
- Change of mind after enrollment
- Lack of attendance or scheduling conflicts
- Failure to utilize purchased classes
- Student relocation or change in circumstances
- Dissatisfaction after classes have been conducted
- Dissatisfaction with a tutor or competition coach after enrollment, as tutor reassignment options are available through our Tutor Change Request process
- Voluntary withdrawal from a program
3. REFUND EXCEPTIONS & PROCESSING TIMELINE
Refunds may only be considered under the following specific circumstances:
- Duplicate Payments: If a parent or student is charged more than once for the same transaction due to a technical error, the duplicate amount will be refunded after verification.
- Payment Processing Errors: If an incorrect payment is processed due to a system error attributable to the payment gateway, Skillzy will issue a refund upon investigation.
- Processing Timeline: Approved refunds will be processed back to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.
4. STUDENT CLASS CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING POLICY
Students or parents may request cancellation or rescheduling of a class by notifying Skillzy Young Scholars at least two (2) hours before the scheduled class time.
- 1:1 Private Classes: When proper notice is provided, the class will not be deducted from the student's package and will be added back to the balance for future rescheduling.
- Small Group Classes (Max 1:4): Group academic and exam prep classes run on a fixed schedule. If a student misses a group session, class recordings, practice materials, and mock test solutions will be provided via the Moodle LMS. Group slots cannot be individually paused.
5. LATE CANCELLATION & NO-SHOW POLICY
- Late Notice: If a student fails to attend a scheduled 1:1 class and does not provide at least two (2) hours' advance notice, the class will be marked as conducted and deducted from the purchased package.
- Tutor Waiting Window: Tutors and competition coaches will remain in the online classroom session for up to 15 minutes. If the student does not join within 15 minutes, the session will be marked as a no-show.
6. CANCELLATION BY SKILLZY YOUNG SCHOLARS
If Skillzy cancels a scheduled class due to tutor unavailability or technical issues:
- The class will be rescheduled at a mutually agreeable time, OR
- The class will be credited back to the student's remaining class balance.
7. TUTOR CHANGE REQUESTS
Skillzy Young Scholars strives to ensure a strong student-teacher match. If a parent or student is dissatisfied with an assigned tutor or competition coach, a reassignment request may be submitted under these guidelines:
- Students may submit a maximum of three (3) tutor change requests per purchased package.
- The student will receive one (1) complimentary demo class with each newly assigned tutor for evaluation.
- Complimentary evaluation demos will not be deducted from the student's class balance.
- Regular class package deductions resume only after the student confirms enrollment with the new tutor.
8. TECHNICAL ISSUES
In the event of major technical issues on Skillzy's platform or LMS affecting a class, the session will be rescheduled or credited back. Minor local internet disruptions on the student's end will not automatically qualify for replacement classes.
9. FORCE MAJEURE
Skillzy Young Scholars shall not be held liable for delays, rescheduling, or interruptions caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including severe internet outages, power failures, or public emergencies. Classes will be rescheduled where possible.
