• Begin with a USNCO diagnostic and check the current official format, scoring rules and eligible level.
• Weeks 3–5: build a topic notebook, practise interpreting evidence and explain answers aloud.
• Weeks 6–8: complete timed sets or event simulations and review weak concepts.
• Final phase: rehearse event procedures, check materials or project requirements, and refine pacing.
